Alright so here we are with Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. Personally, I love this game, it's scary, it has puzzles to it, You will see what I am talking about. Call of Cthulhu is an Adventure/Horror game, you play as a former police detective by the name of Jack Walters. Jack gets admitted to a mental hospital and got diagnosed with severe schizophrenia, but he got released a few years later when they determined that he was no harm to himself or others. In the cutscene you watch right before you play the game, Jack gets a phone call from a guy named Arthur Anderson to investigate the first national grocery store in Innsmouth for leads on the missing clerk Brian Burnham.
Over the course of the game, Jack slowly unravels the strange and terrible secrets behind Innsmouth, the Burnham case, and even the Boston incident that initially landed him in the asylum. Jack must try to survive and remain sane despite the horrors of the new case and his afflictions.
Sound:
Ok, personally I like the sound, it really is eerie and it brings the game to life. The Innsmouth locals have a really weird voice which would bring me horrors if I went there in real life, and the sounds you get when Jack goes schizophrenic. They are creepy, sometimes he hears a little girl crying or playing in the sewers.
Graphics:
The graphics are not so to date, but they are very dark. nuff said.
Gameplay:
I love the gameplay, at first you are just trying to find leads on the missing Brian Burnham, then the town becomes your enemy which leads to a chase at the hotel. You run through hotel rooms and bolt lock the doors behind you to keep them occupied, then you jump out of the window to a platform across the ally. You enter that building through the rooftop and you see the "Stealth" type gameplay. I will not talk to much about it so you can see for yourself but I love the gameplay.
Story:
I will not say much about the story as you already know most of it by reading this. It's a great story and will keep you at the edge of your seat.
So I will give Sound an 8/10, Graphics a 6/10, Gameplay an 8/10, and Story a 9/10
Anyway, that just about sums up this post, I will be posting more content soon, come back to my blog to keep updated.
